The grave of Captain (Capt) Frank Leslie Lonsdale, 17th Battalion. A clerk from Enmore, NSW prior to enlistment, Capt Lonsdale embarked with D Company from Sydney on HMAT Themistocles on 12 May 1915. After being wounded in action at Gallipoli, he was transferred to Tigne Hospital, Malta where on 28 September 1915, aged 28, he succumbed to his wounds and was buried in the Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
