Description
Aitape, New Guinea. Lord and Lady Wakehurst accompanied by Lady Blamey, paid an official visit to troops in the operational area of Aitape. At a dance given in honour of the Vice-Regal party, Sister Ruth McCarthy of Brisbane, Qld, discusses with Lady Wakehurst (centre) and Matron D. Vines of Geelong, Vic, the problems of nursing in the tropics. They are eating guavas, a tropical fruit, for which Lady Wakehurst showed a keen liking.
