Members of the Australian Women's Army Service (AWAS) gathered around a car near the parade ground and football ground at Ivanhoe Grammar School which is being used as a training area for 2nd Signal Training Battalion. On the right is the canteen with the public address loud speaker on the wall. In the distance is Locksley House, used for class rooms and Company Orderly Rooms. Identified is VX44355 Lieutenant (later Major) John Douglas Uzzell, Officer Commanding 3 Company (left).
