Colonel L D King, Commander British Commonwealth Sub Area Tokyo (left); Lieutenant General W. Bridgeford, Commander in Chief, British Commonwealth Occupation Force (BCOF) (centre); meet Major General (Maj Gen) M M A R West, General Officer Commanding (GOC) designate, 1st Commonwealth Division, on his arrival at the Tokyo international airport. Maj Gen West, the new Commander of the 1st Commonwealth Division was the former British Military Commander in Austria. He was en route to Korea to take over from Major General A J H Cassels. A Candadian Airways Douglas DC4 is behind them.
