Korea. 25 December 1952. Private Ron Geer of Hobart, Tas, allows Chung, a young Korean orphan, to look through the sight of a machine gun. Chung's sole ambition is to become a member of the South Korean Army. Chung does odd jobs for the Medium Machine Gun Platoon, of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR).
