The Chief of the Australian Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral (Vice Adm) Sir Victor Smith (right), is on a six day visit to the war zone, meeting Australian personnel and visiting Allied bases. Here Vice Adm Smith enjoys a welcome beer at the end of a day at the Bearcat base. He is speaking with Lieutenant Commander Graham Roland Rohrsheim (left), of Indooroopilly, Qld, Commanding Officer of RAN Helicopter Flight Vietnam (RANHFV), and Sergeant Al Johnson, 1st Sergeant of the 135th Assault Helicopter Company (AHC). RANHFV is attached to the 135th AHC at Bearcat. In the background are two USrmy officers, one named Staadt and the other unidentified. Vice Adm Smith's itinerary also includes visits to the 1st Australian Task Force at Nui Dat, Vung tau, and two days with HMAS Brisbane and the US 7th Fleet in the South China Sea.
