24492 Sergeant Rayene (Ray) Simpson of Crows Nest, NSW, putting the finishing touches to the A Company, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), Christmas tree. It is his third Christmas in Korea. Simpson was later awarded the Victoria Cross (VC), Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM) and two United States medals, the Silver Star and the Bronze Star whilst serving with the Australian Army Training Team Vietnam (AATTV), becoming one of Australia's most highly decorated soldiers.
