During his tour of Japan and Korea, Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Sydney F Rowell (right), the Chief of the General Staff, Australian Army, meets with Lt Gen William Bridgeford, the Commander in Chief, British Commonwealth Forces Korea (BCFK) (left), and an unidentified officer. They are examining paperwork in an office at a camp in either Ebisu or Kure, Japan. On his tour, Lt Gen Rowell is meeting with leaders for discussions on matters affecting Australian participation in the Korean war. Note all three officers are wearing black armbands, and Lt Gen Rowell is smoking a pipe.
