The grave of 1918 Private (Pte) Victor Arthur Evans, 27th Battalion. A native of Bournemouth, England, Pte Evans was a school teacher from Marryatville, SA prior to enlistment. He embarked with the 3rd Reinforcements from Adelaide on RMS Morea on 26 August 1915. After being evacuated from Gallipoli suffering from scarlet fever, Pte Evans died in Malta on 30 October 1915 aged 21, and was buried in the Addolorata Cemetery.
