Iwakuni, Japan. 1954. No. 77 Squadron RAAF Meteor jet fighters parked in a dispersal area off the main landing strip. All have their cockpits covered with canvas as are the air intakes on their engine nacelles. Their outer wing sections have been removed and they are probably waiting transport home to Australia aboard the RAN aircraft carrier HMAS Sydney III.
