Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan. September 1945. Able Seaman (AB) Ted May, RAN, of Drummoyne, NSW, sitting on a small stool found in HMAS Thracian, a British destroyer which was captured by the Japanese in Singapore and surrendered in the Yokosuka Naval Base. AB May is holding a Lanchester sub-machine gun. Note the Japanese torpedo tubes in the background.
