Steyr Mannlicher SSG 69 Rifle
Description
Steyr Mannlicher SSG 69 Rifle. Receiver marked STEYR-DAIMLER-PUGH A.G.STEYR MANNLICHER MOD.SSG.69 left side and the serial number with MADE IN AUSTRIA on the right. The stock is khaki/green plastic with a large rubber butt pad. This rifle is fitted with a Kahles ZF69 6X42 telescopic sight, serial number 231468.
History / Summary
The SSG 69 sniper rifle was developed for the Austrian Army in 1969. The rifle was also trialed by the Australian Army in 1978 in sniper rifle trials. Although the SSG 69 rifle was very accurate, the Parker Hale L82 rifle was chosen as it was cheaper.
