Description
Sea of Japan. 6 August 1945. Lieutenant (Engineer) Bryn Mussared of Brighton Beach, Melbourne, Vic, joined the RAN in 1932. Since war broke out he has served in HMAS Canberra, Vendetta, Nizam. He was on Canberra in 1941 when it sank a German supply ship and tanker in the Indian Ocean, and chased several raiders. He was in Canberra at the re-occupation of Guadalcanal and Tulagi, when she was sunk. He was wounded in this action. He was in Nizam on the first raid on Sabang, and is still serving on Nizam on attacks on the Japanese mainland.
