Bacchus Marsh, Vic. 26 May 1943. Crash site and pieces of wreckage from the Spitfire Mk VC RAF No. EE834, about twelve miles south-west of Bacchus Marsh. The pilot, 421397 Sergeant David E. W. Roxburgh of No. 79 Squadron RAAF was killed instantly. The pilot had been detailed to climb to 25,000 feet to conduct a general test of the aircraft and, in particular to test the aircraft's oxygen system.
