Portrait of May Reynell (nee Byard) who was the originator of the League of Loyal Women and the Battalion Clubs in South Australia. For some months she also ran, at her own expense, a tea house for AIF Light Horsemen at Heliopolis, Egypt. Her husband Lieutenant-Colonel Carew Reynell 9th Australian Light Horse Regiment, was killed in action on 28 August 1915. (Donor A.W. Bazley)
