2/9198 Private (Pte) Richard K (Dick) Martell, of Ariah Park, NSW, A Company, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), gets down for a friendly chat whilst sharing his biscuit ration with a group of children from the local kampong (village) located close to the A Coy base camp in Northern Malaya. Pte Martell was accidentally injured during his operational tour of Malaya.
