Four Australian servicemen about to have afternoon tea on the lawns of the Heidelberg repatriation Hospital, Vic. The hospital serves Australian soldiers who are recovering from illness and wounds. Two nurses (wearing red capes) and a volunteer from the Voluntary Aid Detachment (pouring tea) are in attendance. This image was originally published in 'Soldiering On', page 175 and was captioned "Convalescent Diggers". "Afternoon tea on the lawn at Heidelberg Hospital (Vic) for soldiers recovering from illness and wounds, with nurses and a V.A.D. in attendance".
