Members of the 3rd Pioneer Battalion, AIF training in bayonet fighting at Lark Hill, England. The three soldiers sitting on the bank on the left are identified from left to right as 412 Private (Pte) William George Cole; 571 Pte Frank Zeisser; and 470 Pte Reginald William James Lee. The soldier standing with the rifle is 557 Pte Sidney Eric Richard Ward. The soldier sitting on the bank on the right is 508 Pte Sidney Joseph Nash and the soldier standing behind him is 567 Pte Donald George Windred. The soldier in the trench with the bayonet pointed at his chest is 576 Pte Frederick Henry Prior.
