Description
An example of a booby trapped shaped charge mine that has been placed by Viet Cong fighters and excavated by Sappers from the Royal Australian Engineers. The homemade pressure contact plate (centre) is connected by wires to the homemade battery pack (right) which contains up to six 1.5 volt batteries. The battery pack is also connected by wires to the Mine (left) and provides the power to explode the electric detonator inside the mine. This type of device has been designed for destroying vehicles, as the blast is directed straight up into the vehicle.
