Description

The body of a dead Viet Cong (VC) soldier, having been dragged from the bunker where he was hiding, by the rope attached to his wrist. Provincial Reconnaissance Unit (PRU) scouts had to throw grenades into the bunker to "frag" out this VC, after he shot and threw grenades at them, refusing to surrender. The PRU, led by Warrant Officer Class 1 E. B. (Ossie) Ostara, Australian Army Training Team (AATTV), conducted this cordon and search operation after receiving intelligence that VC guerillas were operating from a hamlet in the Phu Cat area and demanding food from the villagers.
