Japanese Army Officer's Shin-gunto Sword Mountings
Description
Japanese shin-gunto sword mountings. Standard Japanese Army brass fittings of brass tsuba, six seppa and menuki. The hilt binding has been laquered and the sarute (pommel loop) is missing. The handle is broken and bound up with a white bandage. The scabbard is dark brown painted steel with fittings to match the hilt and has a red and brown field officer's tassel, that has been cut, attached to the hanger strap ring. The hilt and scabbard are held together with a wooden keeper blade.
