Japanese Military Shin-gunto Sword Mountings
Description
Japanese Military Sword Mountings. The hilt has mountings of the Showa (c 1930) period flower pattern Fushi-Kashira. The menuki are a copper crabs with pronounced claws and the tsuba (guard) is an iron mokko gata shape 73mm x 70mm with an overall cloud pattern. The brown painted steel scabbard is a standard shin-gunto army style. Much of the original khaki paint on the scabbard is missing and there is some surface pitting.
