Japanese Katana Sword Blade
Description
Japanese sword blade. The tang is unsigned and is described in 1984 by the Japanese polisher Kotoken Kajihara as: "Shape: Shinogi-Zukuri, Length: 64.8 cm, Curvature: 2.5 cm, Kissaki: Sho-Kissaki, Nakago: O-Suriage-Nakago, Jihada: Mokume-Hada, Hamon: Togari-Gunome-Midare, Boshi: Suguha, Komaru". A new double habaki in silver was made in 1984 to fit this blade. It is suggested that the blade was made by a swordsmith who belonged to Kanesada school and lived in Seki of Mino-(No)-Kuni province, during the last part of the Muromachi period, Sue-Koto period (15th Century). A new silver double habaki is fitted to this blade.
