Japanese Wakizashi Blade
Japanese wakizashi blade. It is described by Kotoken Kajihara the Japanese polisher in 1984 as: "This sword blade has no fault. Both Jihada and Hamon are good. The inscribed signature on the tang was lost, because it was cut off the under part of the tang. However, this sword is of representative style of the Yasutsugu in Echizen. It is considered to have been made during the middle part of the Tokugawa period. The shape is Shinogi-Zukuri, Length: 51.6 cm, Curvature: 1.2 cm, Kissaki: Chu-Kissaki, Nakago: O-Suriage-Nakago, Jihada: Mokume-Hada, Hamon: O-Midare, Boshi: Suguha, Sakihotsure". A new double habaki in silver was made in 1984 and fitted to this blade.
This sword and propaganda leaflets were found in a cloak room. No other history is known.
