Sprs William and William Victor Chappelow were father and son and both were posted to the 1st Tunnelling Company. Spr William Chappelow enlisted on 21 October 1915, returning to Australia on 27 September 1917. Spr William Victor Chappelow enlisted on 25 October 1914, returning to Australia on 23 March 1919.
