This image was published in the newspaper "The Western Mail" on 17 December 1917 and identification of the soldiers in the image has been taken from that publication cross-referenced with the nominal roll in "For King and Cobbers - the history of the 51st Battalion AIF" by Neville Browning. Identified in the back row from left to right: 3677 Signaller John Patrick Cooney; 3376 Private (Pte) Charles William Fiedler; 80 Pte Alfred Kellow; 2189 Pte Ernest Llewellyn Hobbs; 5754 Pte Jack Puleston Plummer; 2622 Lance Corporal (L Cpl) Percival Creeper; 15978 Pte William Robert Sage; and 2491 Pte George Stevenson.
