Description
Darwin, NT. October 1942. Ingenuity and improvisation was the keynote to success of the Australian "Troppo Band" which entertained troops both in town and in the field. During this rehearsal the drummer uses "brushes" on cymbals made from metal scrap, and a small drum previously containing methylated spirits. The base drum appears to have been an oil or petrol drum, suitably modified.
