Description
Turkish people, mainly boys and men crowd in a cobbled street, probably part of a busy market or bazar. Displayed on low tables are small loaves of flat bread and some fruit. Note most of the children are barefoot. One of a series of photographs showing local people and the activities of German and Turkish soldiers. The photographs are believed to have been purchased by Australian soldiers whilst serving in Egypt and Palestine during the First World War.
