A crowd of Turkish and Arabian men and children stand in a muddy street of Jerusalem. One German officer leans against a car smoking a pipe and holding a stick. One of a series of photographs showing local people and the activities of German and Turkish soldiers. The photographs are believed to have been purchased by Australian soldiers whilst serving in Egypt and Palestine during the First World War.
