Wash day in the American quarters at Stalag IIIA Prisoner of War (POW) Camp, Luckenwalde, Germany. Articles of clothing and blankets are hanging from the barbed wire fence and unidentified American POWs talk in small groups or walk among the huge tents that housed 400 prisoners each. Prisoners slept on a thin layer of straw under lice infested blankets.
