A sandbagged dugout occupied by members of the 105th Howitzer Battery Australian Field Artillery, near Hill 60. These dugouts were little more than shelters, with mud and vermin as their chief characteristics. Identified, left to right: 1346 Gunner (Gnr) L A Dowlan; 11589 Bombardier G M Massie; 11618 Gnr Wilfred Hordern; 12210 Gnr Leonard Arthur Marshall (in the background, later died of wounds on 17 June 1918).
