Portrait of Captain Harold Burfield Taylor MC and Bar, 19th Battalion. Capt Taylor was a member of the Sydney University Scouts before enlisting in the First World War. He served in the militia between the First and Second World Wars. During the Second World War he was promoted to brigadier and commanded the 5th and 22nd Infantry Brigades, later becoming a Prisoner of War (POW) after the fall of Singapore.
