Studio portrait of Captain Edward Yeoland Butler 12th Battalion of Perth, WA. A civil servant prior to his enlistment on 17 August 1915 he embarked for overseas duty from Fremantle on 2 November 1914 on board HMAT Medic. Butler is wearing the Anzac 'A' badge on his colour patch indicating he served in the Gallipoli campaign.
