Adelaide, SA. Studio portrait of 143 Lance Corporal (LCpl) Alexander (Alex) King, 9th Australian Light Horse. LCpl King, of Morphett Vale, SA, enlisted on 17 September 1914 and was killed in action at Gallipoli on 6 August 1915. Prior to his First World War service, LCpl King served with the 4th Commonwealth Light Horse in South Africa, sailing with the 6th Contingent on 31 October 1899. (Donor C. King)
