Long sleeved black shirt : National Liberation Front
Description
Long sleeved collarless black shirt of the National Liberation Front (Viet Cong). The shirt has white buttons, side splits and patch pockets with diagonal pleats sewn below waist.
History / Summary
National Liberation Front guerilla shirt. This shirt is part of the contents of a Viet Cong pack which provided a complete uniform of the village Viet Cong. Other items included trousers, home made ammunition pouches, rice bowl, pack, hammock roll and rubber sandals. Village Viet Cong remained close to their own hamlet, working in the fields during the day and supporting main force troops at night. These fighters were highly indoctrinated but usually poorly trained.
