Palmerston, NT. 20 September 1999. Members of 3rd Battalion (Parachute) and 5th/7th Battalion (Mechanised), The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR and 5/7RAR) formed up in the Robertson Barracks compound where they were addressed by the Prime Minister, John Howard, prior to their departure to join the International Force for East Timor (Interfet).
