Palmerston, NT. 20 September 1999. Members of the 1st Combat Services Support Battalion (1 CSS Bn), including female soldier Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2) Smith (centre) with Jones (left of WO2 Smith) formed up in the Robertson Barracks compound where they were addressed by the Prime Minister, John Howard prior to their departure to join the International Force for East Timor (Interfet).
