Description
Bound typescript memoirs of 428226 Warrant Officer Philip H MacFarlane, titled: "War Service in the Royal Australian Air Force 1943-1945", covering training in Australia and subsequent active service with 36 Squadron RAAF based at Townsville, then New Guinea, mainly in supply flights, and later the Philippines. The memoir, which includes photographs, ephemera and pencil sketches, was incorporated into the collection on 7 February 2002. Note the inclusion of an envelope inscribed, 'at 7,000 ft on V Day PAX NOBISCUM! 15.8.45' - Victory in Pacific (VP) Day.
