Description
A United States television documentary using historic combat and newsreel footage. Covers the Japanese conquests in the Malaya, Hong Kong and the Netherland East Indies in early 1942. Shows Japanese film of the invasion of Malaya, Sumatra and the bombing of Darwin. The supply of United States Pacific Bases including Australia. US war industries including the production of Grant tanks, B-17 Bombers, submarines and aircraft carries. US recruits training in battle conditions and the development of amphibious warfare techniques. Arrival of the 1st Marine Division in New Zealand in June 1942. US troops in Australia training and on leave.
