Description
Dili, East Timor. 14 November 1999. An unidentified Australian soldier of the 5th/7th Battalion (Mechanised), The Royal Australian Regiment (5/7RAR), lying on a stretcher at the rear the building used as accommodation and a recreation area by members of 5/7RAR. The soldier's kit and Steyr rifle are in the foreground and he has a bottle of water next to his stretcher. In the background another soldier is sitting in the doorway reading a magazine. The building is near a tented roadblock which is guarding one of the entrances to the old Dili airfield now used as a heliport by the International Force for East Timor (Interfet).
