Description
New Zealand soldiers of the 1st Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment (1Bn, RNZIR), part of the International Force for East Timor (Interfet), sitting on the verandah of an unused hospital, now used as an accommodation and recreation area. The soldier in the foreground is cooking toasted sandwiches on a small camp stove. The building is showing signs of disrepair, with a number of panels hanging from the ceiling and long grass in the open area in the centre.
