Balibo, East Timor. 17 November 1999. Private Cameron Simpson (left), Army History Unit, standing next to a sandbagged and camouflaged bunker manned by Lance Corporal (LCpl) Challis (left, inside bunker) and Private (Pte) Donald, both Cooks with the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), part of the International Force for East Timor (Interfet). Both soldiers are taking their turn in manning this bunker and are armed with machine guns, LCpl Challis with a MAG 58 and Pte Donald with a Minimi.
