Description
The statue of Jesus Christ standing on a globe on the headland east of Dili. The statue was built by order of Indonesian President Soeharto and faces West toward both Jerusalem and Jakarta. It stands approximately 27 metres high, and was reputedly built to that height to emphasise that East Timor was the 27th province of Indonesia.
