Photocopied handwritten and typed memoirs (67 pages total), titled "From Sydney Through Hell to Sydney Remembering 50 years 1945-1995", by NX47238 Lieutenant M H Felsch of 2/20 Battalion. Memoirs cover 10 January 1942 - 20 September 1945: training in Australian Army camps -including camp at Dubbo; voyage to Singapore; service in Far East; capture by Japanese forces and experiences in Changi and Sime Road Prisoner of War camps, 1942-1945. The POW experiences include: food, disease, morale, entertainment, punishment, work duties and initial reactions of troops when receiving letters - held in store by the Japanese camp officers - at end of the war.
