Description
Broadside view of the British Cruiser HMS Dorsetshire which operated in the South Atlantic and the Indian Ocean during the Second World War. On 2 April 1942, Dorsetshire was steaming south and positioned about 100 miles south of Colombo when sighted by a Japanese naval force on an insursion into the Bay of Bengal. She, in company with the cruiser HMS Cornwall were then sunk in a series of fierce attacks by waves of dive-bombing aircraft.
