Sennet hat : Boys' Naval Brigade, Victorian Navy
Description
Boys' Naval Brigade sennet hat with tally band. An octagonal-shaped button of black fabric has been sewn onto the middle of the top of the hat. The button is crudely embroidered with an eight-pointed star in gold coloured woollen thread. The edge of the brim has a narrow band of black fabric trim. 'BOYS' NAVAL BRIGADE' is embroidered in gold on the woven black cotton tally band. Both of the tails of the tally band are secured to the brim with a single overlying thread. The crown of the hat is lined with white cotton fabric. Size 6 1/2 inches.
