Edmonton, Canada. 1942. Studio portrait of Leading Aircraftman (LAC) Don Charlwood, of Melbourne, who later survived thirty operations over Europe with Geoff Maddern. Charlwood travelled by train to Canada to join the Empire Air Training Scheme, and later trained for Bomber Command at 27th Operational Training Unit.
