Studio portrait of 139230 Leading Aircrftman (LAC) James Adrian Holdstock, 5th Airfield Construction Squadron, RAAF. Before enlisting on 11 January,1944, he worked at the BHP steelworks in Woolloomooloo, NSW. While serving in Labuan, LAC Holdstock was wounded in the chest by a bullet on Biak airstrip, and died on 8 August 1945. He is buried in Goulburn General Cemetery in New South Wales.
