Informal portrait of Corporal (later Sergeant) William Sefton Bowman, 6th Armoured Car Regiment, of Parkes, NSW. A farmer serving with the 6th Light Horse, he enlisted in Walgrove, NSW on 14 December 1942. He was involved in manoeuvres with armoured cars at Wattamolla Beach, NSW, when he broke his neck after diving into shallow water during a rest period. He died in hospital on 11 February 1943.
