Informal portrait of 1/3577 Private Donald V (Don) Millington (left), of Townsville, Qld, 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), doing some routine maintenance on a marine outboard motor under the watchful eye of Craftsman 'Taff' Davies (right), a member of the British Army based at Grik, which is also the tactical command post of 1RAR in Northern Malaya. Boats powered by outboard motors are often used to take patrols up the Perak river, to avoid hacking through the dense jungle.
